Applications we use.
It used to be 'applications', now there's one and only: SuiteCRM.
Once, a long time ago (2011), Matik was the first and only SugarCRM partner in Croatia (and also in the region) and we worked exclusively with Sugar. At some point in time (around 2013.) SuiteCRM was forked from SugarCRM, by a brave and smart little army of Scottish enthusiast from Salesagility. From the first moment we've noticed those guys, we liked their energy, their attitude towards open source values (something Sugar forgot along the way) and most of all, their product.
So we immediately introduced SuiteCRM to our application portfolio and tried to work with it on our CRM projects. We loved it! It wasn't long before we started working exclusively with SuiteCRM and continued to this day. We have never used SugarCRM again. It was an easy decision.

So, they didn't just mourn about this (like most of the Community including us) but they acted promptly and took Sugar Community Edition source code, named it SuiteCRM, licensed it as GPLv3 and continued working on it relentlessly since (btw this wasn't the first SugarCRM fork, vTiger also did it couple of years earlier, but probably other less famous projects hidden somewhere in the depths of the CRM application ocean).
Immediate results were just abnormally good. SuiteCRM managed to delight in its initial release, primarily because of its functional dominance. It covered really wide functional spectrum with possibilities that were only offered by the strongest players in the niche, like Salesforce, Microsoft, SugarCRM, Sage. There is only one significant difference: SuiteCRM is free of licence costs. You don't have to pay any licence fees for its use and you can have unlimited number of users. OK, there is also one other, if not more significant one (but the first one resonates much stronger with the Clients), it is open for changes and modifications since the code is open. So you can literally find any code line and change it to your needs - that's not something you're going to find in any commercial competitor - and that is huge! SuiteCRM is an exceptional product. It has evolved a lot since its initial release in various areas, always trying to target the ones which were detected as weak spots by the community. It has four (4) major releases a year and much more minor releases. It is by far the best buy in the market. It has the capability to cover every possible request you might have, it is easy to upgrade or to integrate, it is very responsive and modern, the community has accepted it eagerly. If you don't believe us, ask our Clients. Or better yet, try it yourself. |
